Carolyn Sparks, MHA
Chief Executive Officer
Originally from Virginia, Sparks received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, and her Master of Health Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University, MCV Campus in Richmond, Virginia. She is LEAN Certified, and Kata trained.
Her favorite part of her role in hospital administration is enabling healthcare providers and employees to provide high quality care to the community…truly, living out our mission of Making Communities Healthier!
In her free time, Carolyn enjoys spending time in her community and on the lake or hiking with her husband Kyle and their two dogs, Storm and Juice Box.
Angela Pruett
Chief Nursing Officer
Angela began as a Cumberland University graduate nurse with Sumner Regional in 2007 on the telemetry floor and transitioned to a Nursing Director in 2011. For about eight years, she oversaw various nursing units, as well as inpatient therapy services and PICC services. She is a certified professional in patient safety, qualified to lead system-wide initiatives and critical improvements through this exciting phase of growth and challenging time in healthcare.
Angela was a Senior Nursing Director at Sumner Regional from 2019 to 2022, focusing on Women’s Services, Surgical Services, Med/Surg, Inpatient Rehab Services, and Wound Care. She became VP of Nursing Operations for a short time, before transitioning to our Interim CNO in November of 2022.
Angela will be instrumental in making sure all staff, including clinical staff, are heard. She has a positive history of implementing front line recommendations from the Culture of Safety and Engagement Survey completed by staff annually. She has been successful at recruiting quality nurses and retaining local talent.
Amanda Pruitt, MAcc
Chief Financial Officer
Amanda Pruitt, MAcc, is Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Riverview Regional Medical Center (RRMC) and Trousdale Medical Center (TMC). Prior to this role, Amanda served as Assistant Chief Financial Officer for the Highpoint Health System (comprised of Sumner Regional Medical Center, RRMC and TMC). In addition to her new role, she retains oversight for market accounting and financial reporting.
She was born and raised in North Carolina and received her Master of Accountancy from Averett University in Virginia. She has extensive financial knowledge that stems from over twelve years of diversified work, inclusive of public accounting, governmental, and healthcare experience. Employed with Lifepoint since 2017, she has held progressive finance roles with healthcare facilities in Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
Amanda’s favorite part of her job is that she has found a place where the numbers truly matter. In healthcare, behind every financial metric or statistic is a patient’s life. With that in mind, she stays motivated to be fiscally responsible with a mission towards high quality care. In her free time, she enjoys painting and spending time with her husband Ryan and their two dogs, Leroy and Elvis.
